Matt Minglewood Drivin' Wheel Norton NORT99-1

Drivin' Wheel marks the return to the studio for this music industry maverick. This self-produced collection of raw and honest blues rock comes from years of touring, writing and singing the old fashioned way - straight from the heart and soul.
The album starts off on the right note with the infectious " How High is High Enough" and slides nicely into a stellar version Lennie Gallant's "Black Spruce River." A worthy rendition of the blues standard "Somebody Help Me" sinks right to the gut and was a live highlight of the 1999 Christmas Daddies Telethon. He unravels a respectful tribute on "Hughie T. & Annie Lizzie" and salvages "By Your Side" from the Summertime Revue before bringing things to a boil on the climatic "Lost My Drivin' Wheel."
It seems like the only thing you won't find on this album is bullshit - and that's part of the Minglewood guarantee.
