Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets to Matt Minglewood's already sold out show, organizers of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival today added the Maritime blues legend to the Maple Leaf Masters show.

"We simply couldn't meet the unbelievable demand for Minglewood tickets. The Friday show has been sold out for weeks and we get calls everyday from fans who really want to see Matt and his band at the festival," said Brent Staeben, festival programming director, in a media release.

The Minglewood's Maritime Bash show, slated for Friday, Sept. 16, was the first event in the festival's schedule to sell out this year. The masters show takes place Saturday, Sept. 17, in the Bud Light Blues Tent.

The addition of Minglewood puts even more star power into the Maple Leaf Masters show, which already boasted one of the best all-Canadian blues line ups ever assembled. Performing are East Coast Music Award-winners Glamour Puss from Moncton and the Maple Blues Review.

The Blues Review includes Montreal's Dawn Tyler Watson, the Downchild Blues Band's Chuck Jackson, Fathead's John Mays and six-time Maple Blues Award bassist of the year Gary Kendall.

The festival will be the Maple Blues Review's first-ever Atlantic Canadian performance.
Tickets are $25 and are available from the festival store, Harvest Central, at 87 Regent St., by calling toll-free 1-888-NBBLUES or online at http://www.harvestjazzandblues.com/.
The Maple Leaf Masters show will also feature the winner of the 2005 Galaxie Rising Stars Showcase, which takes place on Saturday afternoon in the Hoodoo House on King Street at 1 p.m.
The Saturday night blues tent show is known as one of the Festival's top events and one of its biggest parties.

"I'm not sure there's ever been an All-Canadian line up this good on a Canadian stage. It's going to be one great night of music," said Staeben.
