Hi y'all.

My band at that time, had the dubious distinction of being the openning act on the last night Bobby Woods played with Matt. It was a Beer Garden in Trenton, Nova Scotia.

Several years later I was working at an electronics store in Vancouver and in walks...Bobby Woods. He remembered me and we had a great chat.

I will never forget that night because it was my first time playing with such a "kick-ass" sound and light show.

Keep on "rocking the blues".

Mr. Ed

Hey Matt...I recv'd my cds ordered on line in record time..tks.

It is awesome to hear that music again...the memories of growing up on the East coast, couldn't miss a live show of yours in Pictou Co or at the Crow in Sydney when I attended UCCB. Hey at least I remember to music...lol

Had lost my collection of Minglewood music after a series of moves and thank heavens I found your site and can replace them. My teenage children are hooked also....they can't wait to do our road trip to NS this summer with your music cranked all the way! Will be checking this site for dates...hope we can catch you live somewhere while we are "down home". Thanks for sharing your awesome talent with us for so many years. Take Care!

Matt; Unfortunately my music knowledge is quite low, however we have investigated your web page and are looking forward to hearing you this week at the bar Thursday night in T.O. Sounds like your albums are something I should not have missed, so I will do my preliminary homework and listen to several before we see you. The crew from London are at a convention this week and looking forward a great night. See ya

I first saw Matt at Acadia in the late 70's. I saw him every chance I got until I left the Maritimes in 1985. That summer , I was fortunate enough to see the "new" band in Regina. Some of the Westerners didn't understand our enthusiasm until they heard the music, then it became apparent to them as well. I'll never forget the lights coming up in Acadia's U Hall, a single spotlight on the organ, and Matt singing Patriot Game. It still brings chills!
A World class talent, a true road dog, and still rockin' after nearly 40 years.

From a Maritimer far from home, nothing like East Coast music to take the edge off a bout of homesickness! The place, the music and the memories are always intertwined. Thinking back to nights at the bars in Fredericton years ago, hearing Minglewood and others. Impressive website, worth a regular visit. Congrats on the award Matt, and I see you have a date in Fredericton for Harvest Jazz & Blues this year. Its almost tempting enough to book a flight home in September for a visit!
Blessings
x

Hello Matt, I caught you singing the Rita MacNeil song on the ECMA'S last night, and you were truly great! You showed some of them young fellows what soul is all about. You are and always have been one of the best rockin' blues singers from the East Coast (The Best Coast) or Canada for that matter. I also think you're a great guitar player. I wish you all the best my friend, "Keep On Rockin'". __ Your Friend, Bruce

Hey Matt, just wanted to get on here early, before this thing is filled with proud Capers from all over the world who saw the shows yesterday, to tell how great I thought your performances were. I'm certain that Rita wasn't the only one with a tear in her eye (or the hair standing up on the back of her neck,if she's got any there). Once again you've made us all proud of you , and where we come from. Thanks blues brother!!!
