Can't You See (though I know you're not the original singer)... and Stood Up
Comments:
I'm listening to your "One Caper After Another" cd (Stood Up is playing right now) and I'm thoroughly enjoying the music, the lyrics... and the memories of the 70's! I'm originally from the Cheticamp area and heard you play many times in the 70's. I've also caught "Can't You See" when I wandered down to Grand Parade one New Year's Eve a few years ago... exquisite! :-) You're a talented guy... not only do the songs sound great, but the lyrics are pretty fine too... listened to the words more carefully today. I checked out your tour schedule and see that you'll be on the Dartmouth waterfront for Canada Day... can't wait! :-)

Hi Mr Minglewood,

I really appreciated your meeting with me during your sound check at the Marigold cultural center in Truro yesterday. I learned alot more about what our Canadian troops go through on a daily basis and that has inspired me to endeavor to double my writing letters to our troops.

Thank you,
Cadet WO Francis Castein

Does anyone go back 30 years for Minglewood gigs? If so, does anyone remember the Dirty O (now St. Antonio's) and the wet t-shirt contest they had there in 1978 between Matt's sets?

My wife (still married) was in that contest and was the one (of the 4 contestants) who stripped down to her panties and flashed her boobs several times. To the best of my knowledge, this was the first wet t-shirt contest in the Halifax area.

She won the contest and the $100 first prize which was pretty good money for 1978.

We would love to hear from anyone who remembers that night 30 years ago. I remember there were lots of camera flashes going off during the contest....does anyone still have any pix? I have a couple pix, including one with Enver in the background watching the contest.

Keep on rockin' in the free world Matt. It was the first time we had heard you but it won't be the last. Great performance, great talent and thank you for taking the time to stop by and say hello. We really appreciate the support you give our troops.
The song Kandahar is destined to be a big hit, you really captured what it is like over there. Please let us know when it will be released.

HI, Matt , guess i'm one of your best known silent fans up until now , been a favorite of mine since i seen your first show in Newfoundland at the Memorial stadium in St. John's many moons ago , I watched you sing Can't you see by yourself as you played the piano in a pair of shorts while bic lighters lite the stadium . it was an awesome site since then i have purchased every cd that you have brought here and would love to have the rest if i could get my hands upon them . i would love to see you here again on the rock i have recently got back with an old girlfriend from my past 30 years ago that i could never forget and your songs sure helped me hang on to those dreams and i thank you for that . She has never got to hear you other than my constant playing of your cassettes and cd's and my getting back with her and fullfilling a dream would not be anything but full until we get the chance to hear you once again in person or even at my house over cod tongues , lobster, kraft dinner what ever you fancy while you sign all my cd's and cassttes if you'd like that is . but if not i'd still pay big dollars just to hear you again my good friend cause no one sings with as much heart and soul as you do Matt and we miss you hear on the ROCK COME BACK SOON . 72 Duff's cres. Paradise my guitars are waiting friend all the best hope to see you soon

Just a suggestion, but "Kandahar" should be included on Neil Young's "Living with War Today" songlist webpage! I heard you play it here at Tucson's recently and loved the song.
